Facial Surgical Procedures
The MACS facelift (often called a mini facelift) is a surgical procedure that uses minimal incisions to improve sagging in the mid and lower face. MACS stands for Minimal Access Cranial Suspension. The MACS-lift is suitable for people aged 40 to 55 onwards. It’s a short scar technique. It does not involve a long scar behind the ear. The jowl lift MACS produces adds to the fresh and natural appearance – rather than the stretched look associated with some traditional facelifts.
The MACs facelift is performed under general anaesthetic or local anaesthetic and takes about three hours. Small incisions are made at temples and in natural creases in front of the ears. The tissues under the skin are tightened. Stitches pass down to your neck, jowls, and cheek fat pads. You are likely to have liposuction under your chin at the same time – to removes fatty tissue from your neck.
If your neck is particularly saggy the specialist surgeon might also make incisions behind your ears to correct that. It’s also possible for you to have eyelid surgery at the same time.
Otoplasty is cosmetic surgery of the ear. It is an aesthetic procedure that alters the size, position, or proportion of the ears. The outcome of ear reshaping surgery varies greatly depending on the changes that are desired, but these procedures generally improve self-confidence, especially in children and teenagers.
If the ears stick out, ear pinning can be performed to flatten the ears against the head. If one ear is positioned higher than the other, ear repositioning can create symmetry. Large, oversized ears can be addressed alone or in conjunction with other ear issues.
This procedure is usually performed under local anaesthesia where incision is made behind the ear. Extra cartilage or soft tissue that makes the ear “stick out” too much can be removed. If normal folds are missing from the ear, they can be re-created by shaping the cartilage with permanent sutures or scraping the cartilage to contour it. Sometimes a combination of techniques is needed to get the desired result.
An Upper or Lower Blepharoplasty also known as eye lift should be considered if you have excess, hanging skin covering the natural fold of the upper eyelids, loose skin hanging down from the upper eyelids over the eyelashes or if your upper and lower eyelids appear puffy.
Blepharoplasty can be performed on your upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. Based on a preoperative evaluation of factors which we will advise during your consultation.
The procedure is undertaken usually with local anaesthetic and sedation and with the upper eyelid, requires an incision hidden within the natural fold of the upper eyelid.
In the lower eyelid, the incision will be hidden just below the lower lashes, or when excess fat is being removed, the incision can be placed inside the lower eyelid
Excess tissue then removed through these incisions and sometimes fat may be redistributed in the lower lids to eliminate puffiness or bulges along with other adjustments to correct special problems such as muscle laxity.
Sutures (stitches) are invisible to the eye and are commonly self-dissolving so there is virtually no detectable scar.
A sagging or drooping brow and worry lines can make you look tired, unhappy, and older than you really are.
An eyebrow lift or forehead lift reverses the effects of gravity and tightens the soft tissues of the forehead to restore a more youthful contour to your forehead skin, upper eyelids and eyebrows.
There are various brow-lift methods, which involve different length incisions in different locations and, sometimes, an endoscope. A youthful brow at rest is positioned above the orbital rim, with a gradual arch laterally, and the lateral end or ‘tail’ of the brow located higher than the medial end. As one ages, it is common for the brow to assume a flat or horizontal position. If a sagging brow inhibits your facial expression, a brow lift is a time-tested method for rejuvenating the upper third of your face and refreshes the forehead and opens up the eye area to make you look younger.
A fat grafting procedure transfers fat from areas in which you have excess fat, such as the outer thighs, and injects it into areas that may be lacking in volume, such as your face, hands, breasts or buttocks. This safe, long-lasting, well-tolerated procedure produces natural-looking results.
Fat is harvested from one part of your body, washed and purified, and then carefully reinjected with specially designed needles into the areas that need augmentation. Autologous fat (from your own body), as opposed to dermal fillers, replaces “like with like,” reducing the chance of allergic reactions to foreign substances.
Fat transfer results are natural, long lasting and safe and is a noninvasive method for achieving facial rejuvenation.

Non-Surgical Facial Treatments
The liquid facelift is a form of non-surgical facelift, reducing the signs of ageing without any invasive surgical procedures. Treatments are administered to the face via injection, and can be used to fight wrinkles, lines and sagging facial skin to give a dramatic result.
This is performed with local anaesthetic and the procedure usually takes about an hour and will last 6-18 months.

A chemical skin peel can rejuvenate your skin to reveal more youthful, softer and smoother looking skin without any of the side effects associated with surgery. Chemical peels are a form of exfoliation and dissolve and eradicate dead cells on the skin’s surface to reveal younger cells below giving a number of benefits, primarily improving the appearance of dull, aging skin and lessening fine lines and wrinkles.
Chemical peels can take from 30 minutes to one hour. It is important to avoid any prolonged exposure to the sun after the procedure.We will discuss followup care and advise you on products that will help maintain balance skin colour following your chemical peel.
As we age several things happen to our face. The skin loses elasticity and becomes lax, fat decreases and gravity makes the forehead and eyebrows droop. Muscles also lose their size and strength and the face takes on the typical features of aging.
The skin loses collagen and hyaluronic acid, with sun-damage and pollution (smoking), pigmentation (age spots), fine blood vessels and wrinkles appear.

The non-surgical nose reshaping or a non surgical nose job is used to treat a crooked or asymmetrical nose. These procedure avoids the use of scalpels and anaesthetic, and can take less than an hour from start to finish, with minimal recovery time of merely a few days.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty can be used to correct defects making it the perfect option for people who are reluctant to go under the knife. Due to the temporary nature of the treatment, which can last up to two years, fillers can be redone, altered, or removed as you wish.

Silhouette Soft® uses a double action effect to restore smoother and more toned skin, but also a more shapely face.To meet this requirement, Silhouette Soft® combines two effects: An immediate repositioning of the tissue and a gradual regeneration of collagen.
The repositioning effect is immediate and discreet. It is the result of tissue compression and skin elevation at the time of implanting the suture. After inserting the suture, the doctor applies slight pressure on the treated area. In this way, the doctor reshapes the contours of your face and makes it visibly smoother.
The regenerating effect is gradual: Poly L-lactic acid (PLLA), the principal component of Silhouette Soft® is a well-known polymer that has been used for many years in a number of biomedical and pharmaceutical applications: suture thread, orthopedic pins, rods, screws and nails for bone fractures. It is because this polymer shows excellent biocompatability and is biodegradable that such applications have been developed.
The small cones on the Silhouette Soft® Suture provide traction and fixation points, a natural foreign body reaction then reinforces this, by the build-up of new collagen formation. This action is what helps restore shapeliness to the face and neck.

Wrinkle reduction injections block the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. This effect relaxes and smooths the look of lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive movements on the face—most commonly, between the brows, crows-feet around the eyes, and horizontal forehead creases.
Wrinkle reduction injections also cosmetically to balance facial asymmetry and relax tight neck bands, as well as medically to reduce perspiration and to treat migraine headaches and muscle spasticity.
You may consider wrinkle reduction injections for cosmetic reasons if you are developing lines and wrinkles on your face due to common facial movements.
Injections can usually be completed on the same day as the initial evaluation. They do not require hours to perform or days to recover. The injection site will be cleansed and will usually not require anesthesia prior to injection. The needles used are very short and thin, causing minimal pain.
Once the neurotoxin has been injected, it will take several days to reach full effect and a follow-up visit is often scheduled weeks to months after the initial injection
